The Eternal Attic is a consignment store specializing in Home Décor.  The items we sell come from consignors from multiple states who have traveled all over the world and items they have decided they no longer need when they downsize.

How much of the sale price does the consignor expect to make?

60% to the consignor for items consigned at the sale price of: $0.01 - $999.99

At the end of the first 30 days the item will be marked down by 50%.

At the end of the second 30 days the item will be pulled from the floor and automatically donated for the consignor.

The consignor can withdraw their $20 or less item at any point after the first 30 days and before then end of 60 days.  Should the consignor choose to not donate your item, then the consigner should feel free to come in and find the item.  We reserve the right at The Eternal Attic to help our clientele shop before helping our consignors find their items.  Any item being removed from The Eternal Attic property needs to go through the hands of an employee of The Eternal Attic.

If items are priced $20.01 – $999.99:

Do you sell Holiday specific items?

Any item that is brought in and consigned that is seasonal and or Holiday appropriate, we will price competitively and keep at full price for 30 days.  If the 30 days ends before the holiday or season has ended it will be marked down by 50%.  This is for all price points.  We will pull the item the day after the holiday or at the end of the season.  We will hold onto the item for 7 days.  It is the consignor’s responsibility to pick up their item should they choose to keep it.  On the 8th day the item will be donated.  We ask that you set reminders for yourself should you want your item back.

Can someone make an offer less than the asking price?

We reserve the right to sell a consignor’s item at full price within the first 30 days.  With that said, the Consignor agrees to leave their item with us the entire time.  Should we have a client make an offer on any item we will bring that offer to the consignor only after the original 30 days.  Our goal is to price competitively so that all items sell at full price.

What happens if my item is damaged while being consigned at The Eternal Attic?

The Eternal Attic will make every effort to treat your item with respect but there are times when items get damaged.  We are not held liable for this as we do not own the item.  You need to consult your homeowners insurance in regards to damage, loss, or theft.

The Eternal Attic reserves the right to refuse or accept any item and to request that a consigned item be withdrawn.

I am a consignor, I sold something, when do I get paid for that item?

Consignors can pick up a check for any items that have sold from the 1st day of the month to the last day of the month.  We reserve the right to cut checks no later than the 5th day of the following month.  Should a consignor lose their check there will be a $50 fee to reissue a check.

Can I just drop items to be consigned off at my convenience?

Consignment is by appointment only.  Should a consignor miss multiple appointments without calling and canceling there will be a missed appt fee of $10.  This fee is collected from items that have been sold on consignment but before the payout check is picked up.

Small items that are easily carried can be brought in at the time of your appointment.  Large items need to be pre-approved.  Pre-approval consists of the following:  send a picture of your item to this email.  If the item is approved to be seen in person – that does not mean it will be consigned.  It means that The Eternal Attic staff needs to see it in person to verify it is in the standards that the clientele of The Eternal Attic has come to expect.

The Eternal Attic will strive to work with the consignor to come to a mutually agreeable sale price.  If The Eternal Attic deems the price to not be realistic, we reserve the right to have the consignor remove the item from the property.  If that happens the consignor has 7 days to remove the item or it will become property of The Eternal Attic and dealt with as we see fit.

I just received items from someone else and they should be in good condition but I don’t know - will you still take them?

All items must be in clean and usable condition.  Any dishes that are chipped or cracked will not be accepted.  All electrical items need to work and not have any type of exposed wiring that would be dangerous to anyone when plugged in.  Dishes/glassware must be clean.  Candle holders need to have all wax removed.  Silver, brass, and other metals need to be polished.  Any item that is meant to be hung on the wall needs to be properly and safely wired.  Any item that is meant to be battery operated needs to be consigned with the appropriate usable batteries.  Please remove any residue from stickers that were previously placed on it.  The Eternal Attic reserves the right to charge the consigner a fee if an item needs cleaning and The Eternal Attic has the time/tools to clean the item.

What happens if I know you may accept the item but you don’t have room?

The Eternal Attic offers a wait list for many different items that we may not have room for on the floor or on the walls.  There is a list that we started a few months ago.  If it is time for the consignor to bring in their item that was on the wait list, the consignor will not need an appointment.  The consignor and The Eternal Attic will find a mutual agreeable time at the earliest convenience for both parties.  This appointment is not an agreement of consigning.  This is an agreement that the item coming off the waitlist to be seen in person and if in the proper condition, there is room for the item on the floor to be sold.

Are you on social media, and if so, will my item be posted on there?

We at The Eternal Attic have a wonderful following on Instagram and keep a website updated daily.  We are continually making updates and exploring all avenues to sell your items.

What items are you looking for?

Wish List items – this is constantly evolving.  We have clientele that are constantly looking for new and different items.  Please note that we take this wish list seriously and we never know if that item may walk in the door any given day.

What is the Attic’s policy about the penny going away?

At the Eternal Attic, we look to give back to our community.  We donate items to two different local charities, The Rockfish Wildlife Rescue Center and Twice is Nice.  As the penny goes away, we are donating all cash donations to these two charities.  This is only applicable to people who pay cash.  Ex. If the sale is $10.36, someone pays with $11.00, we will give .60 cents back to the customer and donate .04 cents to the charities.

Will you call me to tell me I have a check?

Payouts:  It is the consignor’s responsibility to track their inventory and pick up their monthly check.  Checks are good for 90 days.  Due to the small commission and having over 8000 consignors, we do not have the payroll to call our consignors in regards to their payout even though that is a phone call I would love to make.
